the area for good quality and ethically sourced foods and treatments. Originally
founded by Pat Gillespie (on the right in the photographs) as The Centre

the left in the photographs) who has enthusiastically and energetically
carried forwards the message of ethically sourced and concience - led products.
Competitively
priced foods of a high quality are available for the healthconcious

ACUPUNCTURE
Niki Oates MA, MBAcC, RCHM
This system of medicine has
been used in China for over 3000 years and is now recognised as effective
by most people in the west. The practitioner takes into account not
only symptoms, but also the lifestyle and general health of the patient.
Very fine sterilised needles are used to stimulate the Qi – this is the
life force running through energy pathways in the body. This allows
the whole system to be restored to balance and optimum health. Although
often seen as a means of pain relief, it is in fact used to treat people
with a wide range of conditions, both acute and chronic. |
AROMATIC
BODY MASSAGE
Ina
Thompson
Essential oils have been extracted
from various plants, trees, and flowers since ancient times. Oils
can stimulate or calm the emotions, alleviate tensions, and fight infection,
each oil having a distinctive therapeutic property. Small quantities
are blended together to reflect the patient’s mental and physical health.
Oils are applied during a massage that is enjoyable, effective and suitable
for all ages. It is fast becoming the most popular complementary
therapy available today. |
CHINESE
HERBAL MEDICINE
Niki Oates MA, MBAcC, RCHM
This safe and effective form
of medicine has developed in China over thousands of years, and is used
there alongside acupuncture, exercise, dietary therapy and Western medicine.
Chinese herbs can help most conditions, although they are best known in
the UK in the treatment of skin problems. People of all ages can benefit
from herbal treatment, including children, as prescriptions can be tailored
to individual needs as powders, pills, teas or tinctures. Dosages are also
personalised so side effects are rare. |

CRANIOSACRAL
THERAPY
Justine Rees
Ed Edwards BA, RCST, MTI
Craniosacral (CST) therapy
is a safe and gentle way of addressing day to day stresses and strains
and more deep-seated problems in a person’s system. This therapy appeals
to the patient’s own system to know how it should be at its optimum and
uses that as a guide. CST works on all levels of a person’s being - physical,
emotional and spiritual – and can help with back problems, headaches, ear
problems, digestive disorders to name a few. It can also be of great benefit
to babies and children. All that is required from the patient is total
relaxation. |
HOMOEOPATHY
Gillian John
A very popular and medically
recognised therapy, Homoeopathy is based on the principle “like cures like”.
The Homoeopath will take a comprehensive case history in order to build
up a complete picture of the patient. Minute quantities of natural
substances are then prescribed, which could, in large doses produce similar
symptoms to the patient’s condition. These stimulate the body’s intrinsic
ability to heal itself. The remedies are non-invasive, safe and can
be highly effective. |
HYPNO-PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Carmen Power Bsc(hons),CRAH,ITEC
The practise of hypno-psychotherapy
uses hypnosis as a tool for psychotherapeutic purposes. Using an altered
state of awareness through deep relaxation it can enable people to tap
into their own resources and potential achieving therapeutic changes.
Hypnotherapies work with the
belief system of the patient and can only support and reinforce changes,
which they have consciously chosen to make. It can help with stress, anxiety,
lack of confidence and mental/emotional trauma, or improve motivation,
creativity and fitness. Deep and lasting changes can be made comparatively
quickly and easily. |

SHIATSU
Justine Rees HSEC
This is a Japanese system
utilising finger pressure on specific points of the body in order to unlock
the meridians or energy pathways. This adjusts the body’s structure
and promotes the harmony essential to good health. Practitioners
usually work on a futon and comfortable clothes should be worn when receiving
this gentle and effective treatment. |
MCTIMONEY
CHIROPRACTIC
Nick Dowsett DC MMCA
This is a very gentle, yet
effective technique for aligning the spine and other joints of the body.
At each consultation the whole body is checked for misalignments, and treated
accordingly, to relieve pressure on the nervous system. By working
in this way a wide range of symptoms can be addressed, and many patients
experience a sense of well –being, as well as relief from long term symptoms
such as low back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder and headaches. |
THERAPEUTIC
MASSAGE
John-Derek Owen IANMT
While the theories of therapeutic
massage are scientific in character, the actual application of these is
a work of art. Therapeutic massage involves the healing sense, sensitivity
of touch, insight and tuition. It is a unique way of communicating, sharing
energy, enjoying pleasurable relaxation, and experiencing peace of mind.
Massage is often attributed to promoting ethereal spiritual effects, akin
to those of mediation. |

REFLEXOLOGY
Benita McDonald
John-Derek Owen IANMT
An age-old system that is
exceptionally relaxing and beneficial for many conditions. Reflexology
is based on the principal that specific areas of the feet (and hands) correspond
precisely to all of the organs and systems of the body. By gently
stimulating points on the feet, there is a “reflex” effect on the relevant
area of the body, which promotes the unhindered flow of Chi (life force)
throughout the system. |
REIKI
Annie Halliwell
John Derek Owen IANMT
Reiki is a deeply relaxing
therapy that energises your natural ability to rebalance and self heal.
An experienced Reiki Master Healer, Anita works with all age groups (including
children) and most health conditions. You lie fully clothed on the
treatment table and non-intrusive hand positions are applied to transfer
the healing energy. Clients often report feelings of well-being and
warmth flowing through the body. You are treated as a whole person
rather than as a diagnosis or set of symptoms. |
